On each screen, ACTc has a “Help” button which explains in detail the research that establishes the calculation and thought flow of that specific screen. A complete list of references can be found in the About US section under “Readings” as well as list of some of our testers who took their valuable time to assist in ACTc’s development.

This screen allows you to enter specific data that is required for the many calculations found throughout ACTc

  • First select your Patient Type and weight
  • On this screen initially BMI and lbs/kg are shown. But Adjusted Body Weight and ideal Body weight can also be seen by touching the yield icon
  • In pediatric patients, a VS button will appear to provide gender specific VS data
  • In all patients, general airway information is shown on the bottom
  • For pediatric patients, the user must click the button “Airway range” and select specific details of the patient to obtain the airway information
  • This screen is also the gateway to the Surgical Set Up screen

Surgical Case Setup

ACTc has a small default surgical database that helps guide users to build their own cases and to share them with the community. Gasshead encourages users to share their knowledge!

*Note - When Changing Patient Types, the old surgery setup (which selects the snap shot drug selection) will be reset and you must reselect a new Type, Surgery, and Snap shot to repopulate the Snap Shot screen.

  • Users have 2 methods to enter new case data: either directly on the iPhone/iTouch or via the web portal.
  • All cases shared with the community will be reviewed for appropriate content prior to release for community review/use.
  • To share:
    • The “Share” button must be selected
    • Then the “save” button should be clicked
    • Then the device must be synced with the server
  • The user can manually sync by going to the sync option in the “More ACTc” menu Or wait till the users signs out and ACTc will request to sync the next time ACTc is started
  • Users can also search for cases using the “search” feature
  • Once a case is found, the user can review, give feedback, and also use the case setup by selecting the “Select Case” button.

Note: Cases uploaded for sharing have a delay in showign up in the general database. Please contact us at if you have issues or questions
